Mis-Labeled Emotions

It is interesting how confused emotions can be.

I remember my first attempt at meditation.
I went into such silence. I named this state sadness, and empty. I didn’t realize how many people were meditating to reach this otherwise blissful state.

I named it sadness as in this silence I became the observer of my thoughts and my life actions. While sitting in ceremony just a few days ago, in anticipation of massive change and awareness, the Presiente commended us for our courage.

I was identifying the feeling that I had as fear, not courage. Perhaps I just mis identified the feeling, I thought. I was intrigued. What I am noticing is how easily one’s thoughts can tend toward the negative.

Why would YOU do that?

During sessions most can recount the ‘I can’t’ or their deepest fears and negative thoughts like a pouring rain descending upon them. When asked what it is that they want, truly want, there is a blank stare.

Is it any wonder why there is not movement? Why your life cannot seem to change no matter what you do. Again it is not your fault. And it is re-programmable! That is the good news.
